How to Apply for a Free Online Care Course

Our courses are free, but you need to apply for a place first. We review every application manually, so access is not instant. This page explains each step, what we look at and what happens next.

01

The short version

  1. Choose your course.
  2. Complete the application form.
  3. We review your application by hand.
  4. If you are approved, we email you with details of how to start.
  5. Study online, take the assessment and, if you pass, receive a certificate of completion.

There is no automatic approval and we do not promise a start date. If you need to meet a deadline for your employer, apply as early as you can and check what they require.

02

Before you apply

  • Read the page for the course you want, including what it does not cover. The Care Certificate course covers the knowledge part only. The paediatric first aid course is online theory only.
  • Check with your employer which training they require. They decide whether a course meets their needs.
  • Have a working email address ready. We use it to contact you about your application, and you should check your spam folder.
Step 1

choose your course

Browse all free online care courses and pick the one that suits your role. If you are unsure, contact us before you apply.

Step 2

complete the application form

The application form asks for your first and last name, email address, phone number, the course you want, your current role and employer, and your care experience. Give accurate details. We cannot review an application that is incomplete or that we cannot verify.

We use your information to review your application and, if you are approved, to set up your learning, as explained in our privacy policy. Marketing emails are separate, and we only send them if you choose to receive them.

Step 3

we review your application manually

A member of our team reads every application. This is a check made by a person, which is why access to the course is not instant. We look at whether the details are complete and genuine and whether the course suits the applicant's role or situation. We cannot guarantee a review time.

Step 4

our decision

We will email you with our decision. If you are approved, the email explains how to start your course. If we cannot approve your application, we will tell you. If you have not heard from us after a reasonable time, check your spam folder and then email info@carecertified.co.uk.

Step 5

study at your own pace

Courses are online and self-paced. Study times vary. For example, the Moving and Handling course is around 1 hour and the Care Certificate knowledge course is around 20 hours.

Step 6

take the assessment and receive your certificate

Each course ends with an online assessment. If you pass, you can receive a certificate of completion issued by CareCertified. Our courses are CPD accredited.

A certificate of completion shows that you finished an online course. It is not a regulated qualification, and it does not show workplace competence. Your employer decides whether it counts towards your training record.

Tips for a smooth application

  • Use an email address that you check regularly, because we will use it to contact you about your application.
  • Give your details exactly as you want them to appear on any certificate, so that your name is correct.
  • Read the course page first, so you know what the course does and does not cover.
  • Ask your employer which training they require before you apply. This is especially important for the Care Certificate, safeguarding level and first aid.
  • If you have a question, email info@carecertified.co.uk before you apply.

Is it really free?

Yes. We do not charge for the course, the assessment or the certificate of completion. You are not asked to pay to be considered or to start a course you have been approved for. Be wary of anyone who asks you for money in our name. If you are unsure, email info@carecertified.co.uk.
